Taupo Rural Fire Force
The Taupo Rural Fire Authority is responsible for responding to rural fires in our area.
The Taupo Rural Fire Force (RFF) is a team of volunteers recruited from the community and trained in vegetation fire fighting. Initially started in 2007 when Council took over responsibility for managing the team, they have attended on average 10 callouts per year.
This involves fortnightly training, some unit standard training in-conjunction with the National Rural Fire Authority (NRFA) standards and various scenarios.
The team is expected to respond when requested to rural fires and commit their time and energy to this valuable community resource.
