BBQs on the lakefront

Five BBQs available on public reserves

Taupo District Council has five electric barbecues in lakeside recreational reserves at Hot Water Beach on Lake Terrace, Two-Mile Bay and Wharewaka Point.  The barbeques are coin-operated and cost $2 for 20 minutes. They are easy to use and are cleaned at least once a day by Council sanitation staff and also steam-cleaned monthly.  

To ensure everyone can benefit from the facilities, people are requested to leave the barbeques in a tidy state after use.

These facilities were installed in 1991 by the Taupo Lions Club but taken over at the club's request by Taupo District Council in October 2004.
