Funding and Grants

Council allocates funding annually that is distributed by three independent organisations.

Sports funding is handled by the Taupo Sports Advisory Council.
Social Services funding is handled by Waiora Community Trust.
Arts funding is handled by the Community Arts Council. A partnership between Creative New Zealand and Taupo District Council provides funding support for community based arts activities through the Creative Community Scheme. To view the Arts and Culture page click HERE.

To view the media release October 2004 click HERE. In cases where applications were unsuccessful council recommended they seek other avenues for assistance, including approaching Council community staff for guidance.

Funding Rounds

All of the above organisations have two annual funding rounds around May and October.
Application forms are available from Council's Customer Service desk.
Council does not provide funding for businesses directly, or for capital expenditure, however it can help with ideas, marketing, etc.
