Amenity and Local Neighbourhood Reserves


Amenity and neighbourhood reserves help beautify the urban area and provide areas for relaxation contemplation, pedestrian and cycle links, dog walking, informal kick-about and children's play equipment. There are 98 Amenity and Local Neighbourhood Reserves in the Taupo district.

Neighbourhood Reserve Management Plan

Taupo District Council is planning to produce a Taupo and Acacia Bay Neighbourhood Reserves Management Plan.

Neighbourhood reserves are small recreation reserves scattered throughout the urban area, providing opportunities for local relaxation, walking, informal games, access, dog exercise which help to enhance the local urban environment.

  • To view the planning map click HERE. One hundred and 96 suggestions have been sent to Council, raising issues on reserve maintenance, shared paths, views, dog exercise and leases. A Taupo Urban Area and Acacia Bay Recreation Reserves Draft Reserves Management Plan has been produced and is available for public consultation up until January 23, 2006.
