Reserve Use Conditions

  • A fee and bond may be required.
  • If necessary, a resource consent for the activity may be obtained from the Planning and Regulatory Division of the Council.
  • Damage to the reserve is the users responsibility.
  • All necessary permits for the erection of marquees must be obtained by the user.
  • Rubbish or animal droppings must be picked up and removed from the reserve at the conclusion of the event.
  • Only vehicles necessary for the running of the event are permitted on the reserve, and all public vehicles must be parked in the appropriate car parks provided.
  • Only one sign will be permitted on the reserve, the size of which must be in line with the District Plan or any Management Plan existing at the time.
  • Should alcohol be served or consumed on the reserve, additional approval must be sought in line with Council’s guidelines.
  • A plan be given to the user showing the area to be used.
  • The applicant must have all other necessary permits relating to the activity, for example an Amusement Device Licence.
  • The user must use the existing toilets or provide temporary toilets.
  • If food is to be served a mobile food licence is necessary.
  • All commercial operators have public liability insurance of between $500,000 to $1 million and evidence of this must be provided.
  • If animals are to be present on the domain then their location must change on a daily basis to avoid damage to the grass.
