Refuse
What is Refuse?
Refuse is another name for everyday rubbish or waste.
Refuse includes sweepings, dust, bones, cold ashes, cartons, packaging and other non-recyclable rubbish from everyday household activities. These things can all go in your rubbish bags and are disposed of in the landfill at Broadlands Road.
What can’t go in my refuse bags?
Hot ashes, garden waste, hedge clippings and hazardous waste cannot be put in your rubbish bags.
Recyclables such as glass bottles and jars, paper and cardboard, plastics
or
and cans should be placed in your recycle bin not your rubbish bags
At the Kerbside
- A $1.50 orange sticker must be stuck to every rubbish bag (60L maximum).
- There is no limit to the number of rubbish bags you can put out at the kerb, as long as the bags used are not bigger than 60 litres.
- Two grocery bags tied together will be accepted with half an orange sticker.
- Refuse Stickers and Vouchers ( 16 kb PDF )
- If refuse bags or recyclable items are placed for removal and do not for any reason comply with what is allowed, then the contractor shall apply a sticker stating the non-compliance
