Buskers and Street Stalls

Permission to busk in public places must be sought from the Council and neighbouring shops where the busking is intended to take place.

Private Property

Council permission is not required for private properties such as Woolworth's, Pak n Save and the Warehouse.

Responsibilities

  • Buskers must specify the dates (the maximum permitted is five days).
  • Ensure no one has the area booked already. Council will do this search.
  • Buskers must fill in an application form (no fees required). Download HERE ( 32 kb PDF ).
  • Buskers should contact the Council if they wish to use Clem Currie Court (outside Whitcoulls and Westpac). Activities outside Clem Currie Court must enhance Horomatangi Street and the surrounding businesses. It has seats and a power point.

There are no parking exemptions for buskers.

Street Appeals, Stalls, Sausage Sizzles
