The draft plan facilitates appropriate decision making for future use of the lakeshore reserves including their protection and enhancement.
Taupo’s lakeshore reserves are highly valued for the recreational opportunities they provide, access to the lake for a variety of water experiences and for their amenity, ecological and cultural values.
Council encourages the public to have their say and provide feedback on the draft management plan. It is available on the Council website, click HERE or from Council Offices in Taupo, Turangi and Mangakino. Submissions close on 26 October 2007 at 4.30pm and will need to be made in writing.
An open day will be held towards the end of September for the community to come along and discuss the draft plan with Council staff.
