A Development Contributions Policy that was adopted by Taupo District Council in July 2004 requires developers to provide contributions in money or land to fund the additional demand on services including roading, water supply, waste water, parks and storm water management. Previously Taupo District Council was only able to recover limited costs from developers by way of financial contributions, with ratepayers taking up the shortfall.
The Policy has been reviewed in 2005/2006 and has been updated in conjunction with the 2006 LTCCP. The list of the changes made are detailed in the first page of the revised Policy (see link below). Please click on the underlined section below to view the new Policy.
