Through the introduction of Chapter 3q – Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area, the Plan Change seeks to provide for the urban development of the Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area by introducing Objectives, Policies and Methods, including Rules into the Taupo District Plan. The Plan Change also re zones parts of the Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area from Rural Environment to new zones including Mapara Residential Environment, Valley Cluster, Forest Cluster, Revegetation Areas and Escarpment Buffer Areas. The Plan Change introduces the new Appendix Three – Mapara Valley Structure Plan, into the Taupo District Plan. It is anticipated that the Plan Change will enable the development of the Mapara Valley Structure Plan Area in a manner that provides for the long term growth requirements of Taupo, while still ensuring that the development will be undertaken in an appropriate manner.

63 submissions have been received on Plan Change 23.  Full copies of these submissions are available to be viewed via the link below.  All submissions are currently being summarised, and it is anticipated that these summaries will be notified for further submissions on 25 July 2008.
