East Taupo Arterial Highway

A proposed East Taupo Arterial highway, ETA, is designed to take heavy traffic away from the main Taupo lakefront and the Central Business District. The map below shows the designated route. Resource consent applications lodged with Environment Waikato for earthworks, stormwater, bridges and work in the vicinity of significant geothermal features were granted in October 2007. The construction phase is due to get underway in the second half of 2008.
