Taupo Urban Land Development

In 1998, as part of the purchase of land for the Eastern Taupo Arterial route, Council acquired a large parcel of rural land on the eastern outskirts of Taupo  township. In order to cater for Taupo’s growth, Council  is undertaking staged residential development of this land over the next 15 to 20 years according to demand and market conditions. See subdivision details below. Council's intention is to ensure that urban development takes place on this land in a controlled and sustainable manner in compliance with Taupo Urban Structure Plans in line with urban design protocols. Development will be progressed according to need and market conditions.

The first development is in Arrowsmith Avenue, otherwise known as Botanical Heights. The second is in the Victoria Street subdivision which is near Botanical Heights.
