Librarians visit Taupo
Over 40 Library Managers from around the North Island attended a two day meeting hosted by Taupo District Libraries last Thursday and Friday.
The annual national library meeting provided an opportunity for our local librarians to showcase the recently upgraded Taupo and Turangi Libraries.
Internal Affairs Minister Richard Worth, the Minister responsible for the National Library, was in attendance and presented on Friday alongside Penny Carnaby, Chief Executive of the National Library of NZ and Alli Smith, Executive Director of LIANZ (the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa). The libraries discussed upcoming challenges and opportunities and received presentations from various organisations.
