Mere Rd Our Neighbourhood event postponed

The Mere Rd Reserve ‘Our Neighbourhood’ event scheduled for last Friday has been postponed due to bad weather, and will be held this Friday 11 December from 5pm.

These community events organised by Taupo District Council are giving people the chance to meet their neighbours in a fun and friendly atmosphere at nearby reserves, and will feature barbeques, live music, fun activities and games, and an appearance by Harold the Giraffe for the kids. 

Taupo District Council Strategic Relationships Manager Dylan Tahau appreciates the irony of the situation.  “We purposely postponed the last few events from the series earlier this year to wait for the warmer summer months, and now our first planned event gets postponed due to rain.  Sometimes you just can’t win.  Thanks to everyone for their continued patience, and please do come along this Friday for a good time.” 

“A huge thanks to our event partners Neighbourhood Support, More FM, Sport Waikato, Life Education Trust, and Hirepool for helping to make the events happen” says Mr Tahau.
