Pick your favourite place and you could pick your prize

Taupo District Council want to know what your favourite natural space or reserve is, for a chance to go in the draw to pick your own prize.
The Parks and Open Spaces team are taking nominations for the Taupo Districts favourite parks, reserves, and natural landscapes for a new promotional booklet. All entries will go into the draw to win your choice of either two tickets to the More FM Winery Tour Concert in Taupo, or a ride for two in the famous Taupo Float Plane. Bonus prizes will also be available. Entries close 22 Jan 2010.
The booklet, which will feature Taupo’s top ten “favourite places”, is designed to promote the many beautiful parks and reserves the Taupo District has to offer to both locals and visitors, and will be made available from Council offices, motels, backpackers, visitor centres and selected stores.
Parks and Open Spaces Manager John Ridd says that they have already been inundated with suggestions from Council staff. “Spa Park has been popular, as has Wharewaka Point. Don’t be put off voting for the big ones, we want to find out which are the ten favourite places.
“We also want to know why it is your favourite too. Some lucky locals may even find their faces in the booklet,” says Mr Ridd, as each “favourite place” will feature a profile of a local resident that voted for that place, and why.
Nominations for your “favourite place” can be made by email to favouriteplace@taupo.govt.nz, or in writing to: Favourite Place Competition, Taupo District Council, Private Bag 2005, Taupo 3352. Please include you name, address, contact phone number and a brief reason why you chose your location.
