Road Works in Taupo (NZTA)

The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that road resurfacing works will be carried out on several sections of State Highway 1 in the Taupo District over the next three weeks.
The works will be carried out in the following places:
• In Taupo Township at the Lake Terrace end of Tongariro Street, from Tuesday 2 February to Friday 5 February.
• South of Taupo at Heuheu Parade, Ruakawa Place, Bulli Point and Waitahanui from Monday 8 February to Monday 15 February.
• Just north of Taupo township from Control Gate Hill north across from the Poihipi Rd intersection from Sunday 14 February to Friday 19 February.
NZTA Hamilton State Highway Manager Kaye Clark says the works on Tongariro Street, Control Gate Hill and at Bulli Point will be completed at night from 6pm to 6am. All other work will be carried out during the day between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm.
A temporary speed restriction will be in place and minor delays are expected. Motorists are asked to observe the directions of on-site personnel.
These works are weather dependant and may be delayed if adverse weather prevents the works being carried out as programmed.
