Ruapehu St resurfacing tender approved

Taupo District Council has approved the tender from Blacktop Construction Ltd to resurface Ruapehu St with hotmix.
The length of Ruapehu Street from Lake Terrace to Paora Hapi Street will be completely resurfaced with hotmix; the contract includes pre-surfacing repairs. Work will commence after Labour Weekend and should be complete late November.
Transportation Manager Denis Lewis said that most of the work will happen at night to minimise disruption to the CBD area. Two smaller sites are also included in the contract on Titiraupenga and Nukuhau Streets.
