Free training for young drivers

The Driver Directions team offer the young drivers of Taupo District a FREE opportunity to test and improve their driving skills at the Taupo Motorsport Park. Caregivers and young drivers have the opportunity to gain valuable driving skills under expert supervision.

The day will include five hours of practical learning and will cover:

• Parallel parking, reversing
• Intersection/traffic sign negotiation
• Traction management and braking
• GDLS changes/practice
• Alcohol and drugs info and Taupo Booze Bus
• Driver Licence quiz
• Head-on crash avoidance/hazard detection
• Activity checklist for parents/caregivers
• Tyre change and vehicle maintenance

The course will be held Monday 22 April. Entry is free but spaces are limited, so early registration is advised. More information can be found on the Registration Form
