Temporary closure for Mangakino Customer Service Centre and Library
If you’re in the Mangakino-Pouakani area and have council-related business you need to do, such as registering your dog, try to get to the Mangakino Customer Service Centre before Thursday 30 July.
The service centre and library will be closed from 30 July until Tuesday 18 August for asbestos removal. In its present state and form the asbestos does not pose a risk to service centre and library users, but it’s important to remove it safely.
Council has hired a certified asbestos removal contractor to do this work and our Facilities team will also take the opportunity to do some maintenance and repainting of the interior and exterior of the service centre. During the closure, you can still call Council’s lovely customer experience team on 07 376 0899 (0800 ASK TDC) or visit our website taupo.govt.nz if you need assistance or information.
So that our library users and keen readers don’t miss out, our district libraries team is arranging a pick up and drop off library service using Mangakino School as the collection point. We will have more details about this next week and Mangakino Library users will also be advised directly.
The library’s regular Justice of the Peace service will be unavailable during the period of the closure. If you need a JP, you can contact Charlene Campbell on 027 44 222 36 for an appointment.
