Alert Level 1 information
Library services in Alert Level 1
All Taupō District libraries are open at Alert Level 1. Library issues, returns and holds are operating as usual and there will be a staged return of other services, as outlined below.
In line with the Government’s guidance regarding Alert Level 1, we will no longer require visitors to adhere to physical distancing guidelines at any of our facilities and venues. Posters with QR codes will be on display in our buildings to help everybody keep track of where they’ve been.
Opening hours remain the same at Turangi Library but will be reduced at Mangakino Library and Taupō Library with Taupō Library closing at the earlier time of 5.30pm on Thursdays.
Borrowing and returning items
Library issues, returns and holds (reserves) are operating as usual. Normal lending periods, fines and fees apply from our reopening date of Monday 18 May.
Please be aware fines and fees for items borrowed prior to lockdown will not apply for the period the library was closed. You have to 30 June 2020 to return these items.
Library items can be returned during opening hours at all three libraries or using after hours book return slots at Taupō and Turangi Libraries.
