Piling work at the new water treatment plant at 231 Kinloch Road begins next week.
The plant will provide Kinloch residents with better protection for their drinking water supply, and improve resilience in the supply of drinking water for a growing community.
Project manager Elijah May says because the plant is a critical piece of infrastructure, it needs to be built to a high structural standard.
“The new plant needs to have a strong foundation and high seismic resilience as it is an essential asset for the Kinloch community,” Elijah says.
“That requires significant groundwork and piling to put it on a strong footing. The piling work gets under way next week and we will be working to minimise any disruption to neighbouring properties. We’re hoping to have the piling completed by May, and the whole project wrapped-up by mid-2025."
