Have your say on South Western Bay Settlement's reserves

Share your views on our draft plan to manage reserves in the south western bay settlements area of the district.
The draft South Western Bay Settlements Reserve Management Plan focusses on reserves in Pukawa, Omori, Kuratau and Whareroa and was initiated following submissions to the 2013/14 Annual Plan. A round of pre-consultation was undertaken with the community and that feedback has helped shape the draft plan.
The draft outlines the way the council intends to manage the reserves and asks for specific feedback on key issues identified as part of the pre-consultation process. These include proposals to prevent day-to-day freedom camping on the reserves but allowing a single motorhome rally at Omori each year, investigating the return of Pukawa Esplanade Reserve to its original owners, and suggested plant species to be used on the reserves in the future.
Feedback on the draft plan will be accepted until 5pm on Monday, February 23. The plan and submission forms are available online. Alternatively, hard copies are available at the council offices and libraries.
