Public meeting to disclose Turangi financials
News
A public meeting will be held in Turangi on Tuesday, September 17, to inform the community about the results of the independent financial and rating analysis it requested in February.
The meeting at 5.30pm at the Senior Citizens Hall will be hosted by the council with presentations from contractors PriceWaterhouseCoopers, who undertook the work, and the independent chair of the council’s audit and risk committee, Anthony Byett.
Mr Byett said Turangi residents asked for an independent, external expert to be engaged to analyse the council’s finances and rates, with a specific focus on Turangi.
The report would provide clarification of financial and rating data and would be made public at the meeting, he said.
