Ready, set, go! The 25th annual Wairakei Estate Ironkidz triathlon is being held on Sunday 25 February.

The Ironkidz triathlon is for ages 7 to 15 starting with a swim along the beach, a circuit ride toward the Taupō Hole in One, and a run toward Three Mile Bay. Five to 7 year olds can take part in the Splash and Dash event, starting with a shallow splash in the lake before a dash along the lakefront.

The course runs along parts of Lake Terrace. To keep everyone safe the following road closures will in place on Sunday 25 February:

  • Ruapehu Street from Roberts Street to Lake Terrace from 5am to 3pm.
  • Lake Terrace from Mere Road to Ruapehu Street from 5am to 3pm.
