Stormwater works at Hawai Reserve
Work is underway at Hawai Reserve to improve resilience to flooding during heavy rainfall events.
This project involves constructing two stormwater retention bunds, which will help capture and gradually discharge stormwater into the piped network. The bund is designed to slow the draining of rainfall, not create long-term ponding, so the reserve will still be open to the community once work is complete.
Due to the high volume of truck movements, the contractor has temporarily closed the reserve as a health and safety precaution while the earthworks are completed.
Please take care and keep clear of the work site during this time. We expect that the work will be completed by 18 June.
