Taupo Safe District

"Making Taupo District a safer place to live, work and play"

About us

Taupo District was accredited as an “International Safe Community” in 2010. Accreditation is based on criteria of the Safe Communities Foundation New Zealand model which is endorsed by the World Health Organization.

People are at the heart of making communities safer places in which to live, work, learn, travel and play; and that everybody has a responsibility to promote and maintain their safety and the safety of others.

Taupo District was re-accredited as a Safe Community by Safe Communities Foundation New Zealand in July 2015.

Taupo Safe District is an inter-agency working group that strives to create a safe and caring community where people and the environment are valued and respected.
