Locating buried pipes or cables – Before you dig
To avoid damaging underground services, you need to check before you dig. This means if you are planning to dig on your property or in the road reserve (road corridor), you need to check before you begin your project.
This includes; digging holes for fence posts or retaining walls, planting trees, excavating for driveways or in-ground pools.
If you have a blocked sewer, or need to locate your water toby urgently, we can tell you where the lateral connection or water toby are located. Alternatively you can visit our online maps, select the “Layers” tab [bottom LH corner], then “Services” [half way down on LHS], then zoom to your property.
If you're digging anywhere on any Council land, including road corridor, you need approval first. To do this you will need to submit a Corridor Access Request (CAR).
