Partnership Agreements
Overview
Partnership agreements are agreements with community groups or organisations that have a longstanding relationship with council and/or are well-founded in the community.
Funding agreements last for three years and provide the opportunity for groups or organisations to work with council in delivering key outcomes that benefit our district.
Partnership agreements are allocated by elected members through the Long Term Plan process.
Funding from partnership agreements may be used for (but not limited to) the following:
- Salaries and wages
- Operational costs
- Materials and supplies
- Advertising
- Venue or equipment hire
- Rent
- Maintenance of equipment or facilities
Partnership Agreements 2021-2024
Council has 14 partnership agreements for the 2021-2024 period, as outlined below.
Blue Light Taupō Ventures
Partnership purpose: To support operational costs, funding the purchase of a community van to transport participants to programmes.
Greening Taupō
Partnership purpose: To support operational costs and purchasing of plants. Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō host a number of planting and educational events each year.
Lake Taupō Sports Advisory Council
Partnership purpose: To deliver and grow KiwiSport and operate a central facility for sports clubs to access free admin support and information.
Lakes and Waterways Action Group
Partnership purpose: To fund administration, speakers’ costs, policy process involvement, events and communications of Lakes and Waterways Action Group activities.
Literacy Taupō
Partnership purpose: To support disadvantaged members of the community to develop safe driving skills and obtain their full licenses.
Mangakino Central Charitable Trust
Partnership purpose: To support purchase for two new treadmills and cover staffing and operational costs at the Mangakino Central FitGym.
Safe Tūrangi
Partnership purpose: To support operational costs.
Sport Waikato
Partnership purpose: To enable the delivery of the Moving Waikato Strategy and to deliver on the outcomes of the Taupō District Sport and Recreation Plan.
Taupō Pathways for Youth Employment Trust
Partnership purpose: To provide programs that allow employers to showcase their sector to young people, helping with the supply of future employees.
Taupō School of Music
Partnership purpose: To retail key staff members and enable membership of groups to remain free to participating students, subsidise lesson fees and facilitate the Big Music Day.
Tongariro National Trout Centre
Partnership purpose: To continue the education program. New education modules focus on conservation, iwi legends, flyfishing and freshwater education.
Tūrangi Tongariro Sports Foundation
Partnership purpose: To continue operational services. Tūrangi Tongariro Sports Foundation hosts an annual water sport program, as well as facilitating racquet and other sports in the community.
Waikato River Trails
Partnership purpose: To continue marketing and maintenance of 105km of free-to-use walking and cycling trails across the district.
Waiora Community Trust
Partnership purpose: To oversee the running of Waiora House and ensure that the vital community service organisations within this umbrella can continue to operate within a reasonable budget.
