Candidates' information sessions
Prior to the 2019 local body elections several candidates' information sessions were held around the district. The sessions provided information to prospective candidates around the nomination process, campaigning, time commitments and legislation that is applicable during the election process, as well as covering what candidates could expect if they are successful at the election.

Members' Standards - A Guide
Brookfields has recently updated its publication, Members' Standards - A Guide.
This is useful to prospective/new members as it is intended to help elected member’s understanding of the public law that applies to the role of a councillor, local board or community board member.
The guide covers the important areas of confidentiality, conflicts and bias and administrative law principles.
