Nolan Drainage, on behalf of Taupō District Council, will carry out a planned water outage in some northern parts of Tūrangi on Tuesday 15 September to complete essential maintenance work.
The shutdown will impact about 100 hundred properties across four streets as listed and shown in maps below. During the outage, these properties will be without water.
Water supply shutdown details
| Date: | Tuesday 15 September
|
| Time: | 10am to 3pm
|
Properties impacted: (see maps below) | Gosling Grove Te Herekiekie Street Waipapa Road (some properties) 4600 State Highway 1 Tūrangi
|
All impacted properties will have received a letter last week about the water supply shutdown.
If the shutdown takes longer than planned, staff onsite will liaise with residents to ensure your water supply needs are met. Should bad weather prevent us from carrying out this work, a new shutdown date will be planned and new notification delivered.
Preparing for the shutdown
To minimise inconvenience during the outage, we recommend that you:
- ensure you have sufficient water stored to meet your needs during the shutdown period
- avoid using taps during the shutdown, as this may draw discoloured water into your system.
- once water supply has been restored, you may notice some cloudiness in your tap water. This is caused by air in the system and you can clear it by running your taps for a few minutes.
Sorry any inconvenience, our team will work as efficiently as possible to minimise disruption.
If you have any concerns about the planned outage, please call our customer service team on 07 376 0899.
