Thinking of standing for local government this year? Candidate nominations for the local government elections are open now.

If you’re passionate about your community and have ideas for how to make it even better, then now is the time to step up and make your stand for Taupō District Council.

The local authority elections are being held this October. These elections occur every three years and are your opportunity to represent your community and the district.

Nominations open today (Friday 4 July) and close at 12 noon on Friday 1 August 2025. Don't leave it too late.

The requirements are all set out in the candidate handbook which is available along with the nomination forms at www.taupo.govt.nz/vote25.
