Property revaluations coming in 2026
Every three years Council contracts a valuer to undertake a revaluation of the entire Taupō District valuation roll. The revaluation notices are sent to property owners in December.
Council’s last district valuation roll revaluation was in 2022. We intend to do another this year as scheduled.
Our valuer Opteon has negotiated a later date for this year’s revaluation. This means that it will take place several months later than usual and provides the opportunity to collect and analyse more sales data. The new valuations should be issued by the end of May 2026, although they will have an effective date of 1 September 2025.
A gap of several months between the date of valuation and the time the notice is issued is normal. In 2022, the valuation notices were dated 1 July 2022 but the notices were sent in December 2022.
You can expect to see your new property valuation sometime around late May 2026.
