Voting in the local elections is now open

Voting papers are being sent out to enrolled voters from today (9 September) and you can return your form by freepost. The last day to send your vote back by post is 7 October.

Vote in person until 12 noon on Saturday 11 October by using a Bobb – a big orange ballot bin. They are located all around the district.

The Council Customer Service offices in Taupō and Tūrangi would love to see you. Both have ballot bins and are also the locations where you can place a special vote.

Mangakino Four Square will have a ballot bin and you can visit the Council customer service office to make a special vote.

This year is a bit different as there is a binding poll on the future of the Māori Ward. You’ll be voting to keep or remove it, as well as voting for Mayor and the 12 councillor positions.
