Meet the young winners of our Design Your Own Helmet Competition

Congratulations to the winners of our Design Your Own Helmet Competition.

There were 251 entries from 29 schools, with the six winners being chosen for their unique creative flair. Each winner had their design professionally airbrushed onto a cycle helmet.

• 5-6 Category: Elise, 6 years (Homeschool)
• 7-8 Category: Kiara, 7 years (Homeschool)
• 9-10 Category: Emmett, 9 years St Patrick's Catholic School, Taupo
• 11-12 Category: Trelise, 12 years (Lake Taupō Christian School)
• 13+ Category: Amelia,16 years (Homeschool)
• Judges’ choice: Kaiawha, 11 years (Hilltop School Taupo)

Teaching kids how to stay safe on bikes and the importance of wearing a helmet is a top priority for us. Our Pedal Safe programme is offered to schools within the Taupō District to help kids learn the basics of bike safety and to increase their confidence while riding.
