Our libraries' Summer Reading Programme was a roaring success!
More than 100 kids in Taupō and Tūrangi completed the challenge, and everyone who finished received a certificate and a $15 book voucher. They were presented at our traditional end‑of‑programme shindig at the library on Wednesday - complete with prizes and yummy snacks.
Running from 8 December to 19 January, tamariki aged 5 to 12 dived into their favourite books and checked in each week to share their reading adventures with our library team. We also held some awesome events along the way, including packed‑out sessions with author Donovan Bixley - 70 kids came along!
Thanks for all your feedback, too! This year’s Te Ngāhere – The Forest theme came directly from suggestions you gave us last year… so we’re excited to see what ideas come through for next summer.
