Get ready for Supercars action this April
Supercars is bringing more than just racing to Taupō!
Expect competitions, Track to Town, markets, games and plenty of activities to keep the whole whānau entertained.
Track To Town
On Thursday 9 April all 24 Supercars will make their way from Taupō International Motorsport Park to Te Ātea, at Tapuaeharuru Reserve on Taupō’s lakefront in town. Grab some merch, an autograph from a Supercars driver, or a selfie with your favourite car.
Pit Stop By The Lake
Gear up for a huge Supercars weekend and head down to Tapuaeharuru Reserve (Roberts St) on Taupō’s lakefront for free entertainment. Grab some food from a local eatery and catch family friendly animated movies on the big outdoor screen.
- Friday 10 April: Cars 2 featuring your favourite car Lightning McQueen.
- Saturday 11 April: Herbie Fully Loaded - the loveable car with a mind of its own.
Build-A-Car Kit Workshops
This year you can build your very own Supercar. A fun, one hour workshop where kids and parents work side by side to build a wooden kitset together. Find out more and book your spot here.
Colouring Competition
Pick up your entry form today from a Customer Service Centre in Taupō, Tūrangi, or Mangakino, and return them by Tuesday 7 April to be in to win tickets or merch.
Scavenger Hunt
New for 2026 – find the hidden Supercars decals around Taupō from Tuesday 7 April and you could win Supercars merch.
Supercars Simulator Challenge
Monday 6 to Wednesday 8 April – test your skills in this racing simulator on te Heuheu St, from 12pm to 5.30pm. Kids 12 and under receive FREE entry all weekend with a paying adult – tickets are on sale now.
