New premises for Waiora House agencies
Community groups and agencies forced to relocate by the discovery of asbestos in the main building of Waiora House have been found new premises by Council.
Family Focus, Anamata Caf, Tipu Ora, Youth Services and the Waiora Community Trust manager's office are now located on the first floor of 28 Heuheu Street and are preparing to resume services.
Taupō Community Foodbank/Women's Refuge and the Taupō Citizens Advice Bureau are in the process of moving into 107 Tamamutu Street and should be back in operation in the coming days. DHB Lactation Consultants will be opening in Office 7 of the Tauhara Wing of Waiora House from October 1.
Pregnancy Help, who had planned to relocate from Waiora House prior to the discovery of asbestos, are now in operation at 65 Lakewood Drive (Inspire Church).

The removal of asbestos from the ceiling and basement of the main building of Waiora House has been delayed while tenant's belongings were removed, and is expected to begin on Monday, September 17. This work is being carried out by Ward Demolition and is expected to take fourteen weeks to complete.
