Representation Review hearings on
Next Tuesday, August 24 council holds public hearings from submitters on its initial proposal for representation arrangements for our ward boundaries, councillor numbers and community boards.
We’re listening to the views of members of the community who submitted on the initial proposal, which can be found here: taupo.govt.nz/repreview
Submitters have five minutes to speak to council members in support of their submissions. Council will then consider whether it will make changes to the proposal based on all written submissions and the hearings at a meeting on September 7.
Governance quality manager Shainey James said it is heartening that submissions were significantly up on 2018’s Representation Review with 118 received and around 13 submitters would be speaking to their submissions in person at the hearings.
The hearings will be held online from 10am and would be streamed via www.taupodc.govt.nz/livestream
