Council opening hours and services on Auckland Anniversary 2026

Our services and opening hours

Here are a few quick reminders about our services and opening hours on Auckland Anniversary, Monday 26 January:

• Kerbside rubbish and recycling collections will be running as normal on Monday.
• Our Customer and Visitor Information Centres in Taupō and Tūrangi will be open on Monday from 10am to 1pm. The Mangakino Customer Service Centre will be closed.
• Landfill and transfer stations around the district will be open Monday (with the exception of Kinloch Transfer Station which is closed on Mondays). Opening hours can be found at www.taupo.govt.nz/rubbish.
• AC Baths will be open from 7am to 7pm every day over the long weekend, including Monday.
• Turtle Pools are open on Monday, from 8.30am to 6pm.
• Taupō Museum will be open from 10am to 4.30pm every day over the long weekend, including Monday.
• All Taupō District Libraries are closed on Monday. Taupō and Tūrangi libraries will be open on Saturday as usual.
