Shared pathway connecting Taupō to Acacia Bay

Project overview

Shared paths leading down Tongariro Street and up Norman Smith Street have been upgraded.

The upgrade has seen the existing footpath removed and a wider, shared pathway installed. These pathways help to link the Acacia Bay pathway to the Taupō town centre and are much safer for pedestrians, cyclists and mobility scooter users.

The upgrade has further increased connectivity to the growing Mapara area.

The project was ompleted in April.
