Accountability report

Because the majority of our community grants are funded through rates, we have a responsibility to the community to be open and transparent about how that funding is used.

When you receive a community grant, you need to spend the funding within 12 months. Each funding recipient is required to complete an accountability form within one month of the project or activity being completed.

Community grant accountability form

The community grant accountability form can be accessed in the Taupō District Council Funding Portal. It asks you how you got on with the funding, what you achieved with the funds, how much you spent and when you completed your project.

Use this form if you received one of the following grants:*

  • Community Sports Grant
  • Creative Taupō Community Grant
  • Mangakino/Pouakani (MP) Community Grant
  • Social Services Community Grant
  • Taupō and Taupō East Rural Community Grant
  • Tūrangi/Tongariro Community Grant

Creative Communities Scheme Accountability Report

Community groups/organisations that have received funding from the Creative Communities Scheme can complete and submit their accountability report in the Funding Portal here.*

Sport NZ Rural Travel Fund Accountability Form

Funding recipients of the Sport NZ Rural Travel Fund can complete and submit their accountability report in the Funding Portal here.*

Strategic Partnership Fund and Accelerator Fund Accountability Reports

Funding recipients of the Strategic Partnership Fund and Accelerator Fund will be sent an email with specific instructions on how to submit their accountability report. If you have any questions, please get in touch with a grants advisor.

*All grants made since September 2025 are able to be accounted for in the Funding Portal, under the 'milestones' tab. Note, if you received a grant before September 2025 and are trying to account for it, please reach out to us instead at funding@taupo.govt.nz.
