Volunteers from the Lake Taupō branch of the New Zealand Society of Genealogists are available to assist at set times, as shown below. The genealogists are in the research area of the library from early February to mid-December, at the times shown below:

In addition to the genealogy resources in the Library, Lake Taupō Genealogy have additional resources including databases, CDs and magazines. A collection of Lake Taupō genealogy books are available for loan.

The microfiche is available on a key system any time the library is open.
Microfiche includes:
- New Zealand births, death, marriages and cemeteries
- Scotland and other international genealogical index
- NZ biographical dictionary
- Locality catalogue
Magazines
Genealogy titles are:
- Family Tree Magazine – The UK edition is available with
your library membership via the PressReader app.
- New Zealand Memories – Physical editions are available
in the library.
