Joint committees
Joint committees bring together two or more councils or other organisations to collaboratively manage shared responsibilities.
Agendas and minutes are produced for joint committees, in the same way they are for standing and special committees.
Te Arawa River Iwi Trust (TARIT) and Taupō District Council Co-Governance Committee
Purpose
To give effect to the provisions pertaining to a joint management agreement between Te Arawa River Iwi Trust and Taupō District Council under the Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Raukawa and Te Arawa River Iwi Waikato River Act 2010.

Committee membership is made up of equal numbers of elected members of Taupō District Council and Trustees of Te Arawa River Iwi Trust.

Te Kōpu ā Kānapanapa
Purpose
To give effect to the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act.
The purpose of Te Kōpu ā Kānapanapa is:
- to restore, protect, and enhance the environmental, cultural, and spiritual health and well-being of the Taupō Catchment for the benefit of Ngāti Tūwharetoa and all people in the Taupō Catchment (including future generations); and
- to provide strategic leadership on the sustainable and integrated management of the Taupō Catchment for the benefit of Ngāti Tūwharetoa and all people in the Taupō Catchment (including future generations); and
- to enable Ngāti Tūwharetoa to exercise mana and kaitiakitanga over the Taupō Catchment, in partnership with the local authorities; and
- to give effect to the vision in Te Kaupapa Kaitiaki.

Waikato Civil Defence Emergency Management Group
Purpose
To provide governance and oversight of all planning, coordination and delivery of Civil Defence Emergency Management within the Waikato Region Civil Defence Emergency Management Group area.
