A decision on this application has been made by Independent Commissioner Rachel Dimery to remove Amenity Tree #24 on Taupahi Road, Tūrangi, with recommended conditions.
There is an appeal process (only for the applicant and submitters) to the Environment Court pursuant to section 120 of the RMA. This appeal period is 15 working days from the date of issue of the decision.

Taupō District Council has received the following application for resource consent.

For land use consent to remove Amenity Tree # 24 being a red oak (Quercus rubra) tree located within the road reserve adjoining the property at 43 Taupahi Road, Tūrangi. The consent sought is part retrospective as substantial parts of the tree have already been removed. It is proposed to replace the tree with a large grade tree of the same species.
The application for land use is a discretionary activity under Rule NT-R2.3 of the Taupō District Plan.
The application includes an assessment of environmental effects.
