Taupō District Council delivers water to different communities around the Taupō District. These water services cover drinking water, wastewater (the water from your toilet, shower and sink) and stormwater (water that runs off hard surfaces such as footpaths and roads during rain).
Water reform is one of the most important changes proposed to local government in decades. It comes after the 2016 Havelock North water crisis raised concerns about water management and the high cost to communities to ensure everyone has safe drinking water.
