Situated next to Tongariro Domain, Riverside Park is located on the banks of the Waikato River.
The park includes a path that runs alongside the river, which makes for a popular short walk for locals and visitors. From Riverside Park, you can cross Tongariro Street near Control Gate Bridge and continue along the banks of the Waikato River to Spa Thermal Park or walk along Tongariro Street to the main shopping district in Taupō.
Riverside Park includes a grassed amphitheatre that provides seating for up to 15,000 people and is used for outdoor events and concerts, including the popular annual summer concert.
Public toilets and a dump station for campers are also located in the park.
