Spa Thermal Park
About Spa Thermal Park
Spa Thermal Park is a scenic riverside reserve in Taupō that blends natural geothermal features with walking and biking trails and large outdoor spaces.
The park provides access to the famous Otumuheke Stream hot pools and lookout, offering visitors a relaxed setting where you can connect with nature just a short distance from town. Scenic walking and mountain biking tracks out of Spa Park run alongside the Waikato River, leading toward the iconic Huka Falls - the most-visited natural attraction in New Zealand.
With 41 hectares of wide open spaces and pine trees, Spa Park is one of Taupō's largest reserves and is a popular spot for family-friendly picnics, exercising dogs and is also home to Taupō Disc Golf.
Dog exercise area
Spa Park is a great spot for dogs to run around safely (outside of the children's play area), with lots of shaded areras, seats and a doggy water fountain too!
While enjoying the off-leash area of the park please ensure dogs are kept under control at all times and are cleaned up after. We encourage everyone to bring their own bags, however free 'pooper scooper' bags are available in dispensers in the off-leash area.
