Great Lake Centre upgrade

Project Overview

The Great Lake Centre is the Taupō district’s main events venue year-round for musicals, conferences, concerts, shows and community events. Opened in 1992, the building is over 30 years old and urgently required upgrades are now being carried out to make sure the venue remains fit-for-purpose well into the future.

The project includes:

• Sound and lighting upgrades
• Technical audio-visual equipment upgrades
• Enhanced acoustic treatment in the Hall and Theatre
• Refresh of interior bathrooms, Green room, Rimu rooms and backstage areas
• Removal of internal wall
• Paint refresh
• Kitchen floor replacement
• Decommission of obsolete items
